Black Out

One main reason why I went to Hong Kong the other week was to attend my aunt's wedding. We were all very excited, and getting to dress up is always a huge plus!

Wedding taboos say that the guests are forbidden to wear anything white or black. But not for this one, we were allowed to wear black. So, of course, that's what I wore; you can never go wrong with it!

A high waisted below-the-knee skirt was the way to go. And a cute match to this was a plain black cropped top. Finished with a pair of black heels.

Pretty boring? I'm not yet done! Tied my hair up in a slicked-back ponytail. This emphasised the layered statement necklace I had on, and gave the look that 'bang' I needed!

It was a day full of tears, laughter and joy. Weddings are always so beautiful, I can't help but shed a tear. Congratulations to the happy couple!!!

HKG

Last weekend was spent in Hong Kong; glad that I got to see my family and eat great food!! YUM! Love how diverse the cuisine is, but Chinese food will always be comfort food!

Coming from school, I took the 5 AM flight from Manila. The only sleep I got was an hour nap on the plane (zombie mode: ON). Lol!

We didn't have an itinerary for the day; just took the MTR to Central and decided from there. Had some Yoshinoya (also one of my favourites - a must!) for lunch and we were ready to explore and discover new things!

Holly Brown is a great dessert shop; you can make your own ice cream concoction or have some coffee. Speaking of.. another cute cafe is the Cupping Room. Make sure you don't visit too late because it closes at 5 PM. You can find it along the same street, Queen's Road Central, as Holly Brown.

We went further up, reaching SoHo - take the Central to Mid-Levels escalator. There we discovered a lot more stores. If you're ever in Hong Kong, make sure you visit Central. Just walk around, and you'll be in for a treat! From bakeries to cafes to shopping, you can find everything there!

B&W

Denim skirts are all the craze this season! But you know how people say that you shouldn't get caught up in trends? Don't worry, denim is considered a basic piece - you can almost never go wrong! There are tons of ways to style yours - with a graphic tee, an off shoulder top, and a lot more!

Paired my white a-line skirt with a black fitted turtle neck top. Black and white is a great combo, without exception! Gave my feet some time to relax, and went with classic black ballet flats. Added a layered necklace to get the perfect spiffy look! How do you style your denim skirts?

Tagaytay & LWD

Visited Tagaytay with my folks the other weekend. I thought it would be a bright, sunny day, but I thought wrong! That didn't stop me from taking photos for a style post though! Used my crochet LWD (little white dress, a closet must have!) with red wedge heels. Used my new Lokai bracelet - it has water from Mt. Everest and mud from the Dead Sea. "Sometimes you're on top of the world, stay humble. Sometimes you've hit a low, stay hopeful." - something that reminds you to keep your balance. With the chilly weather up in Tagaytay, I don't understand how I managed not to freeze!

The weather, rainy and foggy, wasn't in our favor. So we spent the time stuffing our faces with food, food and more food! Felt like I gained 5 pounds from that day trip, but it was worth every calorie! YUM!

After the 2 hour drive from the city, we arrived just in time for lunch at LZM. Famous for their bulalo and boneless bangus - a guaranteed favorite! Passed by Sky Ranch just to check the place out. The view of Taal Lake was beautiful! Bag of Beans was the last destination of the day. With old trees, cabanas, flowers and beautiful interiors, it was a good place to relax and talk over coffee and dessert.

Definitely a place to visit for families, couples, friends - everyone! You can go have a food trip, enjoy the activities offered at Sky Ranch or to chill and delight in the cool weather!

Dungarees

My friends and I went to Ultra last week. It is an annual outdoor electronic music festival, which started in Miami, Florida. Last September 26th, it was the first time that Ultra had an event in the Philippines. How cool is that!?

Short overalls seemed to be the right outfit for the occasion. The event was held at MOA Open Grounds, so this outfit was the perfect fit for the venue and weather. Wore a black cropped top under the overalls, to get a classic look. Threw on my NY Yankees cap, not that it was going to be sunny, but because it 'completed' my ensemble some sort of way. And the best way to finish the look was to wear sneakers. Perfect for style, comfort, and most importantly, dancing!

Always remember to have a buddy system during events. It would suck to lose the group, and end up alone the whole time. And keep an eye on your valuables at all times! And above all, have fun!
